Qualifications
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 3 years of inventory and purchasing related experience or an equivalent combination of higher education and experience is required. This position requires experience with ERP Enterprise Resource Planning software system in the fields of inventory master data, warehousing, accounts payable or purchasing. Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills as well as verbal and written communication skills and well organized and able to manage multiple tasks in various stages of the process are needed. This person must be self-motivated, takes initiative, and ownership of responsible tasks. The ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities and deadlines, as well the ability to analyze a problem and recommend potential solutions will be required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite – specifically Excel, Outlook, Word, Teams and Sharepoint required, as are strong negotiating skills, accuracy, and attention to detail to ensure all orders are placed for the correct materials and services for the best overall value are.
Responsibilities
Responsible for the commitment of funds on behalf of CORE under guidance of the purchasing policy. Executes the purchase of goods and services per purchase requisitions and inventory replenishment requests. The Buyer I will research the item or services, the specifications, available vendors, and negotiate the best purchase terms for CORE in alignment with established cooperative business practices, agreements, and procedures. Aides in the planning and forecasting of material requirements and places purchase orders for forecasted internal project materials. Assist in supporting master purchasing and inventory item maintenance activity. Supports the entire procure to pay process with goods and services suppliers and Accounts Payable.
