IREA’s check payment processor has experienced recent delays in receiving check payments from the U.S. Postal Service. Some were received more than two weeks after the postmarked date. According to the USPS website, it is experiencing high volumes and reduced staffing.
To help avoid significant delays in payment processing, consider an electronic option:
• Sign up for eBilling and use the quick payment option from within your eBill.
• Sign up for Auto Pay.
• Pay your bill via phone or internet using ACH or credit/debit card (residential only).
• Sign up for bill pay through your bank.
IREA does not charge fees for electronic payments. Please contact your bank to determine if fees are associated with bank bill pay.

Consider Budget Billing for predictability
Residential customers can make their electric bill more predictable by enrolling in Budget Billing. Budget Billing sets a monthly amount due based on the previous 12 months of usage at your service address. The amount due will stay the same for the first 11 months of enrollment, and your account will be settled in the 12th month with a lower or higher bill based on actual usage.
Call us at (800) 332-9540 to confirm eligibility and enroll.
