Local Government and Business Relations Manager

SALARY

$108,800 – $145,000

QUALIFICATIONS

College Degree in Business, Finance, Public Relations or related field or combination of education and work experience providing equivalent knowledge. Minimum of five years of work-related experience and public speaking experience preferred. Ability to work with complex issues in a public setting required. Economic Development or Account management experience with utilities or local government is required.  Very strong interpersonal skills are critical. Demonstrated successful experience in negotiation, and community leadership preferred. Must be willing to work non-traditional hours to attend city and county council meetings, public events, etc.

BASIC DUTIES

This position is responsible to manage effective working relationships with our communities, counties, and key community organizations to enhance CORE’s image; obtain and retain our franchise agreements; assist in new business development; increase throughput by assisting in local economic vitality; and protect the CORE’s assets within the communities and geographic service territory. Scope requires an understanding of all aspects of CORE’s business interests within the community – electric transmission and distribution operations; electric sustainability and EV initiatives; community and economic development; and public affairs. This position will be responsible for managing relationships of franchised communities, local and county governments, and Key Accounts.  This role requires internal coordination and support of business development, community affairs, and operations. This role reports to the Director of Business Development.
