$100,984 – $134,576

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent certificate is required. Five or more years of utility electrical metering systems experience and three years of experience supervising and/or leading preferred. Knowledge of principles of electricity and metering theory, automatic meter reading (AMR), net metering, and advanced metering infrastructure (AMI), including deployment, reporting, and maintenance required. Knowledge of applicable codes, including the National Electric Code (NEC), National Electric Safety Code (NESC), and City, County, and State codes are a must. Knowledge of high and low-voltage safe work practices, meter installation, meter testing, programming, and wiring, including multiplier metering (primary and secondary) applications is required. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new software is required. This position requires accurate record-keeping skills along with quality control skills.

Responsibilities

This position is responsible to the Distribution Operations Manager for the administration, development, and supervision of the construction and maintenance of metering infrastructure. They are also responsible for the direct supervision of all Senior Meter Technicians, Meter Technician classifications, Meterman classifications, Meter Tester classifications, Apprentice Meter Tester classifications, and Meter Investigator classifications. Duties are semi-routine, involving the use of CORE standards and procedures, industry best practices, and national standards while planning and managing the staff, equipment, meter installation, maintenance activities, and day-to-day metering activities while maintaining the highest quality control. This position receives general direction from the Distribution Operations Manager and works from CORE procedures and general objectives; however, plans and arranges own work. Requires discretion in the handling of confidential and personal matters. Work includes a combination of office and field activities. The position furnishes direct supervision, development, and performance reviews of the Cooperative’s Metering department, including accountability for results in terms of safety, costs, methods, and personnel.
