Qualifications
This job requires a high school diploma or equivalent plus two years of specialized training or work experience in the electrical field is required. Must have a good understanding of basic mathematics, algebra, electrical theory, drafting, and construction practices. Work experience should include use of electrical drawings and basic electrical calculations. Must be knowledgeable in computers, spreadsheets, and word processing. Must maintain a valid Colorado Driver’s license. Must have good written and verbal communication skills.
Basic Duties
Responsible to the Planning Manager for performing design reviews and documentation of Small Generation Interconnect Applications and metering equipment on construction applications in accordance with current CORE and N.E.C. standards. Duties involve knowledge and application of electrical power systems and generation. A wide range of procedures are used, and the position requires analysis of facts to determine what action should be taken within the limits of standard practice. Must have a working knowledge of N.E.S.C. and N.E.C. standards.
Receives technical direction from the Planning Manager regarding definite objectives and established goals. The employee plans and manages own work after those goals are established. Accuracy, promptness, follow-up, and completeness of assignments are essential.
Regular contact with contractors, customers, inspectors and other CORE departments is required to furnish or obtain information as well as to give technical guidance in accordance with CORE standards
