Laurie Burkhart has been appointed CORE’s new Chief Financial Officer, bringing extensive utility leadership experience to the cooperative. She oversees Finance and Accounting for the cooperative, including Asset Management, Procurement and Warehousing. Prior to CORE, Ms. Burkhart held roles as CFO, Controller and other management positions in the utility industry. She began her career as an auditor for Deloitte in Anchorage, AK. Ms. Burkhart is a Certified Public Accountant with licenses in Alaska and Colorado. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Alaska, Anchorage and an MBA from Capella University.
CORE’s Fitch Rating of “AA-“with a Stable outlook was reaffirmed in 2024, recognizing CORE’s solid financial position and disciplined approach to operations. Ms. Burkhart’s proven abilities in financial management and a deep-rooted respect for cooperative values are set to continue CORE’s longstanding tradition of sound financial practices.
