2025 International Lineman’s Rodeo

The sun hadn’t yet crested the horizon when the first boots hit the dirt. With gear in tow and nerves buzzing with anticipation, lineworkers from across the country gathered in Overland Park, Kansas for the Annual International Lineman’s Rodeo. It’s more than just a competition, it’s a celebration of skill, precision, and the kind of teamwork that keeps the lights on in communities nationwide.

CORE sent seven apprentices and two teams of journeymen linemen to the International Rodeo in Overland Park, Kansas, this year. With nearly 300 teams competing and over 350 apprentices from all over the globe, the competition was at the highest level. CORE competitors competed in four events: Pole Climb, Hurtman Rescue, and Two Myster Events.

CORE teams and apprentices truly rose to the occasion, leaving everything out in the yard and representing us with pride.

Some key highlights include:

• Both CORE teams placed in the top 175 out of 290 teams nationwide in the Best of the Best Category.

• One CORE team placed 80th out of 290 teams in the Pole Climb Event.

• One CORE team placed in 125th out of 290 teams in the Hurtman Rescue Event.

• Three CORE apprentices placed in the top 100 out of 364 apprentices for the Best of the Best Category.

• Two CORE apprentices placed in the top 80 out of 364 apprentices in the Pole Climb Event.

• One CORE apprentice placed in the top 100 out of 364 apprentices in the Hurtman Rescue Event.
