CORE awarded New Era grant

On December 19, the USDA Rural Utilities Service (RUS) announced CORE Electric Cooperative as an awardee for the Empowering Rural America (New ERA) program. The program, part of the Inflation Reduction Act, is available to member-owned rural electric cooperatives, which have been the backbone of America’s rural power delivery for a century. CORE will use the investment to procure wind and solar energy along with battery energy storage in rural communities in Colorado. “The New ERA funding is an integral part of CORE’s broader strategy to ensure reliable and safe power and maintain stable rates for our members, while in alignment with Colorado’s greenhouse gas reduction objectives,” said Pam Feuerstein, CORE CEO.
