In late December, a series of extreme wind events hit portions of CORE’s service area and created extended outages for thousands of members. Some members were out of power for up to seven days as our crews and contractors worked through adverse conditions to repair hundreds of downed lines and broken poles.
To those of you who experienced service interruptions: Thank you for your patience, understanding and resiliency throughout the unprecedented weather events. We understand the significant disruptions extended outages create in your daily lives, and the frustration that comes with them.
Thank you also for your incredible support of the CORE crews, support staff and administrative personnel who worked tirelessly and safely until the lights were back on for every member. They rose to the unprecedented challenge, and their efforts truly embody the values of our member-owned, not-for-profit cooperative.
We know there is always room for improvement, though — especially when it comes to meeting the needs and expectations of you and our other members — and are committed to an honest assessment of our cooperative’s response ahead of, during and following last month’s extreme wind events.
CORE is having internal discussions that will help us improve how we handle future extreme weather and other events that threaten our distribution system. The key to those discussions will be feedback from you and other members. To that end, we have created an online form through which you can provide feedback regarding your recent experience. Your input will help inform how we can improve and continue to provide an excellent member experience.
Whether you had just a brief interruption of service or a days-long outage, we encourage you to share your thoughts via this online form.
