CORE Commitments

CORE Electric Cooperative’s mission is to connect lives and communities through choice and innovation. We seek to provide for the communities we serve – not just through reliable electric service, but by also partnering with local programs, businesses and organizations.

Every year, CORE contributes to hundreds of worthy causes and organizes several charitable programs. We also maintain an employee volunteer program.

As part of our mission to connect lives and communities through choice and innovation, CORE partners with local programs, businesses and organizations. Seasonal Programs

Each year CORE invites budding artists in grades 1 through 5 to help us promote National Electrical Safety Month in May by submitting original safety-themed artwork. One winning entry is selected per grade, earns its artist $100 and $500 for their classroom, and appears as part of our safety communications in May. Since 1988, CORE’s board of directors has awarded grants to graduating high school seniors who plan to continue their education. This year we will again award 35 grants – five per director district – of $2,000 each. Grant recipients are chosen via a lottery-type drawing, as there are no scholastic requirements. CORE invites our veteran members with disabilities to request nominations for the CoBank-sponsored No Barriers Warriors program, which will send 50 armed forces veterans on outdoor expeditions designed to challenge their limitations – both real and perceived – and create a network of support. CoBank will cover all costs, including travel expenses, for participants. CORE will begin accepting nomination requests in early 2024.
